1:35 Scale 6”x 10” Setts (Cobblestones) Mould (1350011)

The 1:35 scale 6”x 10” Setts (Cobblestones) Mould produces 1:35 scale 6 inch by 10 inch individual setts. They are commonly used for both roads and pavements.

These 1:35 scale setts look great on their own but even better when combined with the setts from the 1:35 Scale 6”x8” Setts (Cobblestones) Mould.

*Please note: the section of road in one of the pictures contains both 6”x8” and 6”x10” setts.

It is easy to model effects such as furrows in the road caused by heavy tanks turning, roads with bomb and shell craters or simple pot holes. Most people find that building even large sections of road is surprisingly easy and very rewarding. For best results be sure to work from photos as old roads are far from perfect.

The texture on these setts and setts produced by our other setts moulds is relatively course. The reason for this is that when you fill the gaps even setts cast with the hardest plaster will start to lose some texture. It also makes them more versatile, for example you could build a smooth road and a stone block wall using the same mould.

To get smooth worn setts, stick them in place and gently rub the surface with an old wet green scouring pad before filling the gaps.

We recommend:

Good quality hard castings plaster. Some cheaper forms of Plaster of Paris are too soft for some of the weathering techniques.
Powder pigments to colour the plaster rather than painting the cast setts.
Combining these setts with the 6” by 8” setts.
